Solar Energy
Solar power is the medium that will fund world language
curriculum in the schools. By installing solar panels on all the
school buildings or in a field on school property, the goal is to
create a cost offset from utilities to fund the program cost.
| Fundamentals of Solar Power |
| Solar power is the conversion of
sunlight into electricity. It is a sustainable resource.
|
| Solar Power is Better for the
Environment |
| Generating electricity
from solar energy reduces your consumption of fossil
fuels, which decreases pollution and greenhouse gas
emission. By switching to solar power, you will combat
global warming and reduce our nation's dependence on
foreign energy sources.
|
| Solar Partners |
| We are currently in
discussions with innovative solar providers. Our hope
is that through this partnership we will reduce the
expenditure required. |

Solar Installations |
| Look at solar energy installations
throughout the US in a time-lapsed map published by the
National Renewable Energy Lab. Click on their map to go
to their site. Scroll down and find this map and click
to see the installations. (Wisconsin comes on board in
2002.)

Solar Energy Curriculum Unit
The solar energy unit brings solar energy
education into the classrooms and allows students to use the
solar systems as a learning tool, not just viewing it as
"hardware". |
